BABY NAMING

Walk a little slower Daddy
said a child so small
I'm following in your footsteps and
I don't want to fall
Sometimes your steps are very fast
Sometimes they are hard to see
So - walk a little slower Daddy -
for you are leading me

A Naming Ceremony for a child is still the most special celebration of a new life and is the equivalent of a christening . Children can be of all ages and the ceremony could also be seen as a time to include older children who did not have a christening or a naming ceremony when they were younger. It can also be a time for a new step child or an adopted child, to be welcomed into their new family.

A memorable Naming, Family Bonding or Adoption Ceremony can involve all members of the Family, including siblings and grandparents.

The Ceremony can include Religious and/or secular elements and take place in a location of your choice - a hotel, a park, your own home or garden, for example. It can take place on any day of the week and at a time of your choice.

You can appoint Godparents or if you prefer another term, Guardians, Life Coaches or Sponsors. The Ceremony can include music, Readings and symbolic unity ceremonies.

Single parents also find such a ceremony a wonderful way to affirm commitment to a child.

While faith-based ceremonies, such as christenings have long established traditional scripts, choosing the right words for a more personal ceremony can be difficult.

I will help you to create your own bespoke celebration, encouraging family members to include their own words as they pledge their love and devotion to the child.

You are free to choose the content which feels right for you.
